New hedgerow established in Heston Community Garden
Preparation of plant planting position and delivery of compost and loam have given Heston Action Group a hedgerow which will encourage a greater diversity of wildlife in the garden.
The Heston Action Group began their planting in the community garden on Saturday, 13th November 2021.
The hedging includes a range of colourful plants such as Hawthorn, Pyracantha, Berberis, Dog Rose and Blackthorn.
Over time additional plants will be added to enhance the seasonal colour, and with vegetables to be grown in raised beds, the landscape will evolve . Our next focus is to engage even more local residents to be involved.
