Did you know Hounslow has its own apple variety? The Hounslow Wonder is the Borough’s very own variety and has been around for over 100 years!

London has many apple varieties named about various parts of the city and Hounslow is one of the areas that has its very own variety, the Hounslow Wonder. Due to development and urban planning the variety all but disappeared but is now being brought back by volunteers who are nurturing saplings and planting community orchards to reinstate the apple and to bring the London variety back into the spotlight.

The Hounslow Wonder is a large, white fleshed apple that has a sharp, crisp flavour with a red and yellow skin.
