Hounslow Council’s garden waste collection service provides residents with 25 fortnightly collections from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022, with a break of two weeks over the Christmas period. The service is a convenient, low-cost way for residents with gardens to dispose of cuttings throughout the year.
New subscribers will be provided with a 240-litre brown wheeled bin or two heavy duty 90 litre sacks, depending on their available storage space. These are then collected on a fortnightly basis from their property by Recycle 360, a company wholly owned by Hounslow Council. The good news doesn’t end there as every collection is recycled and creates compost – no waste collected by Hounslow Council goes to landfill.
Residents are advised to sign up before 1 April to ensure they receive the service in full. This will ensure that current subscribers don’t experience any interruption to their service and new subscribers are set up ahead of their first collection on the 1 April. The cost for the service for the year is £55 or £27.50 for those in receipt of Council Tax Reduction.
If you are new to the service or simply renewing, then payment can be made easily using all major credit and debit cards, excluding American Express. Residents without access to a computer can subscribe by visiting their local library, where a member of staff will be happy to help.
If you are currently a garden waste subscriber and paid with direct debit last year then be careful not to subscribe again as you may be due to renew automatically, so look out for notifications about your subscription before renewing.
